Seminar Spotlight: Psychology of Personality

Following a dynamic discussion of neuroplasticity and epigenetics within the context of meditation/mindfulness practices, Psychology of Personality students visited the New England Peace Pagoda and Buddhist Monastery in Leverett, Massachusetts. The peace pagoda was built in 1985 under the guidance of Nichidatsu Fujii, a Buddhist monk from Japan and founder of the Nipponzan-Myōhōji Buddhist order. After touring the grounds and taking in the scenery of the location, students reflected on the neurological and psychosomatic effects of meditation/mindfulness.
