Seminar Spotlight: Sports Business and Marketing

The Sports Business and Management class officially tipped-off this week with a trip to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA.  

Fun fact: the game of “Basket Ball” was invented by Joseph Naismith, a gym teacher at the Springfield YMCA in 1891.  Since then, the game has grown into a global phenomenon, and the National Basketball Association has become one of the most popular professional sports leagues in the world.  

We learned about the role that entrepreneurs, business leaders, and corporate sponsorships have played in the history, growth, and future of basketball. We also took some pictures!  Check em’ out:
