The College Experience Fair

Last night, we held our college experience fair. For the first part of the evening, we had an open house where teachers represented their institutions and talked about the various types of experiences they’ve had on college campuses: liberal arts colleges, large state schools, R1 schools, technical institutes, city “campuses,” rural campuses, schools with Greek life, schools with a focus on study abroad, and more.

After, we had a Q&A session with Eli and Meghan from Logic Prep, a company founded by two-time Putney Student Travel alumna Lindsay Tanne (Creative Writing in Buenos Aires and Language Learning Madrid and Barcelona!). Eli and Meghan have both worked as admissions officers; Eli at Vassar and Meghan at Harvard. They were able to hold an information session about the admissions process in a pressure-free environment where students could feel free to ask any question on their mind. We touched on subjects from “what is super-scoring?” to “what makes a strong college essay?” to “how is my application read?”
