Greetings from another jam-filled week in Music Performance! Last week, Fiona enjoyed three days of private lessons with local trombone virtuoso (and longtime Putney music veteran) Brian Bender, focusing on blues scales and trombone-specific technique. Our week culminated in a fantastic Friday afternoon jam session with Brian, myself, and fellow instructor Josh, our resident jazz drummer. That night, Fiona took center stage during our annual Coffee House open-mic night, performing (and playing improvised solos on) the jazz tune “Coming Home Baby” to thunderous applause!
